Brunch at Mövenpick Hotel, Lausanne

Valentine’s Day is not everyone’s cup of tea. I am also among those people who wouldn’t be sad if it doesn’t exist, but I use it every year as an excuse for eating out with friends. As the supposedly most romantic day of the year fell on a Sunday, we decided to try the brunch at the Mövenpick Hotel Lausanne.

When entering the Olympia room, the first thing that caught my eye was the chocolate fountain, strategically positioned at the entrance. I must admit, for a second I was tempted to start with the sweets and finish with the savoury!
Additionally to the fountain, there was a choice of 5 different types of small cakes (lemon, chocolate, red fruits), pistachio mousse and (most importantly!) Mövenpick ice cream.

The cold buffet offered gazpacho, beetroot mousse, tomato lollipops, marinated shrimps, foie gras, salmon and beef tartar, bruschetta, a choice of salads and cold cuts.


In a separate room you could find a typical breakfast buffet with bread and croissants, diverse jams, eggs, bacon and sausages.
The second buffet offered a choice of warm dishes: chicken, lamb, pork, curry shrimps, saffron risotto, vegetables and onion soup.

There was more than enough food to enjoy yourself for several hours!
The only downside; the brunch is served in a room without daylight. Therefore don’t wait no more and try it out before the summer months begin!

The brunch costs CHF 60.- per person including as much coffee and orange juice as you like.
